Situated
on the SouthCoast, Weymouth and Portland is the
most southerly point of Dorset, rich in Roman and Celtic history. Most of the
clubs finds within these pages have been found here, dating back 3,300 years
at least, covering bronze age through to the modern day.
Our meetings are very informal,
members are encouraged to bring along their monthly finds, chat to other
likeminded enthusiasts, and learn about this most fascinating pastime. Meetings are normally attended by the
Finds Liaison Officer for Dorset and Somerset, and we have had regular guest
speakers, for examplePhilip de
Jersey, Celtic coin expert, & coin valuers from Dix Noonan Webb.
