Wiltshire
Rally - update
After another successful club rally, the
farmer has invited us back again next year. We have booked the 8th and 9th of
September 2007 for club members and invited guests to attend. Book your diaries!
We raised £104 for club funds from this
year rally, thank you to all of those that donated prizes.
Jon Gozney's
possible treasure find of the 16th century silver gilt dress fastener has been handed over to the
Wiltshire coroner as per the relevant treasure law.
Club Site
As most of you know our main club site
near Dorchester has been virtually seeded all over. Club
members are therefore asked to keep off this land until such time that it
becomes available. We are actively seeking new land at the present time.
£150.40 (minus expenses) was raised for
club funds from the very successful Dorchester
show, a big thank you to all of those that helped make it a success. We
are now chasing up the farmers who have promised us land to detect on.
Please try and give the club Chairman
contact numbers for groups of members, so that I may pass on in a 'round
robin' any important club news. Email him here

Tsunami Beach Hunt

Long-time club member Colin Bell and chairman Paul Rainford hold up a cheque which resulted from Colin's recent
fundraising idea to benefit the tsunami victims in Asia. Colin managed to persuade about 20
fellow members to spend their Sunday morning looking for lost change on Weymouth beach...and thus raising a total of
£170.69!!!
A
fantastic effort and a great idea. Congratulations and thanks to all
involved.
